Wow, this is the first time I see somebody else also has this problem. And I do mean 'problem' because a tone of 16 kHz not only makes me physically unwell but it also messes with my brain - I can't think straight and I feel terrible.

I can hear most tv's produce an awful continuous high frequency, sometimes even blocking out the normal sound, but they don't produce the 'killer' frequency of 16 kHz. Phones do.

Obviously I can't go public with this, since every goddamn phone or any sound device can produce these high frequencies and I have already noticed with certain 'friends' it is very tempting to test if the guy can really hear what they can not hear. Over and over again.

Which puts me in a tough spot, since these horrible 'mosquito sound' devices are even popping up in the shopping mall in my town in Holland and nobody seems to know it is not only kids that can hear it. It's a serious problem for me but all I can do is hope that this crap will not get too popular - if you can't find anyone on the whole internet experiencing the same problem you know you are a minority...
